The Wolverine Sealcoating Process

There are many different ways of finishing your driveway, we choose two standard methods, use the best products on the market and do it right. We fill cracks with vulcanized rubber and then seal the entire driveway.

Following is what you can expect from contracting Wolverine Sealcoating:

  1. We first power-clean the driveway and prepare the imperfections in the cracks and holes.
  2. Crack Repair: After the cracks have been completely cleaned, we will fill them with quality hot rubber product to keep out water and prevent further damage. The rubber crack sealer is extremely HOT and is applied to get deep into the cracks and holes. As the rubber cools, it solidifies, but stays flexible so it can expand and contract with the thermal movements of the asphalt.
  3. Next we tape off the driveway, all house molding, garages and walkways to leave a clean, mark-free application.
  4. Finally, sealcoating is hand-applied over the entire asphalt area leaving a rich, flat black coat which leaves no sealer marks. Unlike many of our competitors, we always include aggregate in the sealcoat, which will make the sealer last longer and assure an abrasive surface for car and foot traffic. Without aggregate a sealed asphalt surface can be slick.

We always advise to avoid driving on newly sealed driveways for 24 hours minmum.
